Oliver Vaughan
Chairman
Oliver is non executive Chairman and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He has a range of business interests including property, investment, telecoms and leisure. Prior to reversing his private investment vehicle into the company in 1995, he established, built up, floated and subsequently sold Juliana’s Holdings Plc a leisure and entertaining business with global operations. Oliver sits on the boards of a number of AIM quoted companies.
Andrew Monk
Chief Executive
Andrew is Group Chief Executive with responsibility for growing and managing the Group. He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford and has been in the City for over 20 years working at Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch) in London and New York, Schroders and Hoare Govett (Now ABN AMRO). Andrew’s background is as an equity salesman and has built a large client base of fund management groups and hedge funds. He has a reputation for actively helping small cap companies achieve their corporate ambitions and grow accordingly.
Before joining as CEO of Blue Oar Plc, Andrew was one of the founders of Oriel Securities and also Joint CEO & Head of Securities.
Chris Roberts
Finance Director
Chris Roberts is Group Finance Director and has responsibility for the finance, compliance and back office functions across the Group.
Before joining the firm in 1996, Chris spent seven years at MacIntyre Hudson where he qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant. He also served on the board of a number of quoted and unquoted companies and was Chief Executive of The eVestment Company plc (now Evolution Group Plc) until it acquired Christows Group Limited in November 2000, remaining as Group Managing Director of its private equity division until March 2001.
Chris has been a director of a number of publicly quoted businesses over the last 10 years including companies in fashion, telecoms, software and retail.
G F Casey
Non-Executive Director
Gavin Casey is a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has over 30 years experience in banking, venture capital corporate finance and the securities industry.
Gavin was formerly Chief Operating Officer of Smith New Court, a publicly listed broking and trading house that was sold to Merrill Lynch in 1995. From 1996 until 2000 he was Chief Executive of London Stock Exchange plc where he was responsible for turning round its loss-making business, for the introduction of electronic trading to the London equity market, and for the Exchange’s move generally to a far more commercial basis of operation.
Gordon Lawson
Non-Executive Director
Gordon Lawson is a Non-Executive Director and a member of the Audit Committee.
Gordon has thirty years experience in the City and is currently advisor to and a director of a number of investment funds, having been a founding partner of Pendragon Capital, which he co-founded in 1999. Prior to that he was Managing Director at Salomon Brothers / Citigroup (1986-1999) responsible for the proprietary equity book and Head of Risk of all UK, European and Emerging equity cash books, derivatives and convertible bonds. He was also a member of the European Management Board. Before joining Salomon Brothers, he was a partner of Scott Goff Layton / Smith New Court (1983-86) and held UK institutional sales roles at Quilter Goodison and J&A Scrimgeour Ltd. Gordon is a Justice of the Peace and holds an MBA from Cranfield Business School.
David Snow
Non-Executive Director
David Snow is a Non-Executive Director and member of the Remuneration Committee.
David began his career at Cayzer Limited, the merchant bank, in 1979 before joining the Harlow Butler Group in 1981 where he worked until 1999, latterly as Chief Executive of Harlow Butler UK Limited. In this role, as well as being responsible for over 500 brokers and more than 100 back office staff, he helped prepare Garban for its successful stock market flotation in 1998. Garban subsequently merged with ICAP in 1999. Since then David has focused on running and being involved in a number of private business and property ventures.
